Currently our registration is closed. If you need to pay your competition fund, equipment fees or purchase a glove these items can still be found on our the registration site.

Note: Should you require a refund within the first 2 weeks of class commencement the club will be happy to accommodate less a charge of 3%. 

Registration Site

We’ve added a competition fund for our athletes participating in Manitoba provincial tournaments. This is used to pay our coaches at tournaments to support Lightning athletes when competing against members of other clubs. Members competing in these tournaments are requested to contribute $50 to the fund. The amount is fixed regardless of the number of tournaments attended (only contribute $50 once). Next year 2025/2026 season this will become part of the fee structure for competing athletes; this year we are easing into it.

This is an annual fee $5-$25/item and is open to athletes transitioning to the provincial team. It is not required those just taking classes at club.

All members are required to own a glove. This can be purchased on the registration site.

Full Membership

  • Full membership gives you a full season of fencing with our certified coaches.
  • + $125 MFA/CFF registration fees

Additional Member

$ 300
  • If more than one person from the same household registers for the September to May season, additional members pay this reduced fee.
  • + $125 MFA/CFF registration fees

Fall 10-Week Intro

  • The fall promotion 10-week intro is designed for people who are new to fencing and who want to try it before committing to a full September to May membership.
  • + $80 MFA/CFF registration fees

Intro-to-full Top Up

  • For fencers who registered with the 10-week fall trial, if they wish to continue for the rest of the September to May season, they simply pay the difference.
  • + $45MFA/CFF registration fees

All our classes are led by certified coaches, who have been trained in first aid, and who have also completed background & child-abuse registry checks.

Registration with Lightning Fencing Club also requires registration with the Manitoba Fencing Association (MFA) and the Canadian Fencing Federation (CFF).  These fees will be available at a later date.

Please note that families with children under 16 years of age can apply for financial assistance from KidSport Winnipeg.
